Terms of reading

The terms on which these pages are read

This page sets out what The Dividend Desk does, what it cannot do, and how it is paid. The figures on this site are measurements of published sources, not instructions. A reader who relies on them decides alone and is responsible for their own decision.

Information, not advice

Nothing on this site is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. A dividend rate is a number read from a named public document; a peso amount is a recalculation at a rate taken from two independent sources at every reading. Those measurements carry the limits of their sources, and no page here removes those limits by adding a suggestion to buy, hold, or sell.

The desk is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. A reader who wants advice should look elsewhere; a reader who wants a measurement of a published rate, taken at a stated date and hour, is in the right place. The difference is the whole of this page.

Sources and corrections

Every table on this site names its sources underneath, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher. For the treaty rate, the source is the text of the income tax convention between the United States and the Philippines as published by the US tax authority. For the peso conversion, the rate is read from two independent sources at every reading and the time of reading is shown. A figure that is wrong is corrected, and the correction is dated on the page.

The editor named on these pages is Maricel Dizon, Editor, cross-border holdings. Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the editor. Corrections are the reason the address exists. If a reader sees a figure that does not match its named source, that is what to report. The desk will check it and, if it is wrong, correct it and date the correction.

Affiliate link and how the desk is paid

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader opens an account there, the desk is paid a commission. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This is the only way the site earns money. There is no subscription, no paid report, and no other commercial relationship.

Following the link leaves this site. The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. The desk has no control over what happens there and no access to any account opened there. The affiliate relationship is stated plainly here and on the page about the publisher. A reader who does not want the desk to earn a commission can type the broker's name into a browser instead.

What the site stores and what it does not

The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter, and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics, and stores nothing in the reader's browser. A reader can read every page without being known to the desk. The only personal data the desk ever sees is what a reader chooses to write in an email to the editor, and that is used only to answer or to correct a figure.

The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs. The site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of them. Those logs are the provider's, not the desk's, and they exist for the running of the server. The desk has no interest in who reads which page, because the desk is paid only if a reader chooses to open a broker account through the affiliate link.
